From the moment he was born he was struck with a serious Kidney condition that kept him bedridden most of his childhood, sleepless and in pain. He was lucky enough to receive surgery days before his kidneys would fail completely at 10 years of age, but his prognosis stayed bad. He was predicted that his condition would not let him live past 40-45 years of age.
Driven by his will to live and not fall back to his previous condition he started experiementing with food, yoga, qigong, and later taiji gongfu, Chinese medicine etc, driving himself to higher levels of practice and study, exercising 10-12 hours a day, following a variety of studies and doing 13 years of research for his PhD paper in China, becoming a Daoist monk etc, ending up with the Daoland Healthcare plan, which he kept tweeking. In the mean time his health has become good, being about 60 year now, 20 years after his predicted death.
His idea is that healthcare should not be a businesss, but a service from the able to the less able. People should not be overly billed for health services, simply because high bills are anti-social when people are in need. Also a health service should leave you not only healthy after the fact of treatment or learning, but also leave you with experience based tools to deal with the aftermath of your condition. As such he set out to create courses that generate health independence, but that also create generational value for families, being able to share the effectiveness of the healthcare art to children and grand children. He believes only in this way we can get out of the medical consumer trap, generate a generally healtyer population and apply medicine only when there is no longer another option.
